ESSM II: Potato Fest West

This movie night was all about the potato-heads. Did we even watch the movie? I don't remember.

Three Clems and two Joels. Will anyone ever come as Mrs. Mierzwak?

G couldn't be with us this time, so shortcuts were taken on the props.

But G was certainly with us in spirit (examine photo closely).

The potatoes now known as "Carmelo and Sucker."

Felix regarding next week's Oscar party: "Will we be making potato-heads again?"

J.R.'s potato obsession: driven by male competitiveness, political consciousness, or an attempt to impress Angela? Discuss.

The men spent twice as much time as the women on their potatoes.

Venting. "For you, DU."

Reenactment of the night: the smothering game. Why do we think Felix and Susannah continued the reenactment once back at their apartment?

The potatoes remain on Angela's mantel. In a near-perfect act of cannibalism, the meal of the night was stuffed baked potatoes. Food served a dual purpose on several levels, as J.R. smeared dark chocolate on his potato to create an authentic Khadafi. We did watch the movie, and the evening ended in benign disagreement over whether the movie's over-riding theme was hope or utter despair. Others just thought Jim Carrey's character was crazy.
